| | Cutlery and coffee cups I stole from all-night restaurants. | ] | Up at nine, out of bed by ten, showered and out of the house by eleven. Went to the bank because paychecks are nice. Went to Canal Towne because paychecks for my mom and hot chocolate are also nice. Debated lunch, walked around some, then to the gas station for mediocre coffee. Had sandwiches and bad jokes for lunch. Being done with the day by 1 PM feels amazing and Tuesday morning sunlight feels even better. |

500 Days of Summer was probably the stupidest most pretentious movie I have ever seen. There was no appeal and no personality to either of the main characters, much less the supporting cast. "Miserably love-lorn" and "Adorably quirky and super-indie" is not nearly strong enough to carry a movie, much less a good one. Cool, senseless name-dropping and product placement. Why? For people to feel better about themselves? OK cool.
But like seriously a relationship founded on liking The Smiths is bound for failure because seriously then you have just met someone as miserable as you and wtf? And WHO WAS THAT FEEL-GOOD ENDING FOR EXACTLY? ALSO: "MY NAME IS AUTUMN." DURRHURRR. C WUT THEY DID THUR?
But like really I cannot believe I wasted an hour and a half that I coulda been fuckin'. |

It appears as if my weekend was better than yours was.
Oh wait... trains, good city, art, family, excellent friends, questionable driving, hipster-dodging, diners, good tunes, good show, good people, dinosaurs, prostitutes, Patrick Swayze and too much nonsense to handle?
... it was.

Last day of summer break. The boys came looking for Ian earlier. There was a heightened sense of urgency in the way they moved, the way they packed the car. Out the door before 11 AM on a Wednesday.
It's been cold for the better part of a week. I'm so excited for fall to be in full effect. I've never not gone back to school. I'm getting institution emails with greater frequency. September is full of more travel and less job than any other month this summer. |

I wound up leaving work a few hours early and wound up at Chili's with Adam and Brian. The last time I was there was early on in March. It was Thursday. Tonight was Friday. We sat in a similar area. The food was still mediocre. I didn't bother getting coffee. We discussed blatant foreshadowing. The last time this happened things ended much differently. Overall it was very unimportant, but still a little bit strange.
Adam is leaving on Tuesday. There are about two weeks left at work. Maybe three. We got our last shipment of ice cream on Thursday. I want to clean my room but I am exhausted all the time. I can't find motivation to do it. I am still able to stay awake until 5 in the morning though, despite saying I was going to sleep an hour and a half ago. |
